On 26 November 2018, in the Concert Hall of the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, a ceremony of awarding the title of doctor honoris causa to Maestro Arvo Pärt was held – one of the most outstanding composers of the turn of the 21st century.

The solemn laudation was delivered by the supervisor, Prof. Paweł Łukaszewski, and the artistic part was marked by the performance of the Chopin University Chamber Orchestra, which, under the baton of Rafał Janiak, performed Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten by the newly promoted Doctor Honoris Causa.
