Krauze | Mahler | Shemet
November 18 @ 19:00 - 21:00
Music invites contemplation of places regarded as sacred and reflection on the destruction wrought by humankind. Spróbuj opiewać okaleczony świat [Try to Praise the Mutilated World] is Zygmunt Krauze’s latest composition, based on Adam Zagajewski’s famous poem, which calls for finding joy in everyday life. Krauze’s Piano Concerto No. 2, inspired by the composer’s travels, expresses admiration and respect for the world’s cultural diversity. Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 evokes a longing for an idyllic, childlike vision of Heaven, undermined by the composer’s subtle irony.
