Today, we are announcing three concerts from this year’s programme, which will take place at the Warsaw Philharmonic.

For years, the Eufonie Festival has been building its programme around the musical identity of Central and Eastern Europe. The region’s complex history, distinctive cultural landscape, and deep spirituality form the thematic axis around which the festival programme is built each year. Through the shared experience of listening to music, the Eufonie Festival invites audiences to discover the countries of the region, including Poland, through the works of various composers, talented performers, and a rich diversity of musical styles.

Three of the nearly thirty events planned in this year’s programme are symphonic concerts in the Concert Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic. There, on Wednesday, 18 November, the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Yaroslav Shemet will perform works by, among others, Zygmunt Krauze – an excellent Polish composer, who will also take to the stage as soloist in his Piano Concerto No. 2. His composition Spróbuj opiewać okaleczony świat (Try to Praise the Mutilated World) for soprano and symphony orchestra will receive its world premiere performance, in which the solo part will be sung by Joanna Kędzior.

On the birthday of Krzysztof Penderecki, Monday, 23 November, the Warsaw Philharmonic will be filled with the sounds and voices of the Credo – the last of his major works yet to be presented at the Eufonie Festival. Under the baton of Michał Klauza, it will be performed by the Orchestra and the Choir of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków, the Boys’ and Girls’ Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic, and the Ukrainian Children’s Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic. Orkiestra wraz z Chórem Filharmonii im. Karola Szymanowskiego w Krakowie the Boys’ and Girls’ Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic, and the Ukrainian Children’s Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic.

The third of the announced concerts at the Warsaw Philharmonic is an invitation to celebrate the culture of Latvia with an orchestra from Liepāja – a city that will hold the title of European Capital of Culture 2027. On Friday, 27 November, on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will perform his violin concerto Vox Amoris. The programme of the event will also include works by Jean Sibelius and Henryk Mikołaj Górecki.

The full programme of this year’s edition, to be announced soon, will also feature Altersounds, the festival’s alternative strand. It is aimed at audiences seeking musical experimentation, where classical music meets electronics, folklore intertwines with the avant-garde, and intimate clubs and sacred spaces take precedence over grand concert halls. This year, Altersounds will focus on film and television music, inviting listeners (and viewers) into the world of classic films by Andrzej Wajda as well as contemporary productions, including television series, as part of the celebrations marking the centenary of the Oscar-winning director’s birth.

The programme will also include chamber concerts and the second edition of Little Eufonie – workshops for the youngest audience, encouraging them to listen to and create music together. This year, the Eufonie Festival will visit the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Grand Theatre in Łódź for the first time. This autumn, the festival will also expand to new venues, including the atmospheric SPATiF Club and the cosmic space of the Planetarium at the Copernicus Science Centre.

18 November 2026 (Wednesday), 7.00 pm, Warsaw Philharmonic

Krauze | Mahler | Shemet

PROGRAMME:

Zygmunt Krauze
Spróbuj opiewać okaleczony świat for soprano and orchestra (world premiere)

Zygmunt Krauze
Piano Concerto No. 2

 ******

Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 4 in G major
_____

PERFORMANCE:
Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra
Yaroslav Shemet – conductor
Joanna Kędzior – soprano
Zygmunt Krauze – piano

23 November 2026 (Monday), 7.00 pm, Warsaw Philharmonic

Penderecki: Credo | Klauza

PROGRAMME:

Krzysztof Penderecki

Credo
_______

PERFORMERS:
Soloists – TBA
Orchestra and Choir of the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Kraków
Boys’ and Girls’ Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic
Ukrainian Children’s Choir of the Kraków Philharmonic
Michał Klauza – conductor

27 November 2026 (Friday), 7.30 pm, Warsaw Philharmonic

Liepāja Symphony Orchestra | Kuzma

PROGRAMME:

Henryk Mikołaj Górecki
Three Pieces in an Old Style for string orchestra

Pēteris Vasks
Vox Amoris Fantasy for violin and string orchestra

******

Jean Sibelius
Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43
______

PERFORMERS:
Liepāja Symphony Orchestra
Guntis Kuzma – conductor
Vineta Sareika – violin

From 12 November to 6 December, we will once again have the opportunity to experience the music of Central and Eastern Europe across Poland: from Kołobrzeg and Szczecin, through Warsaw and Łódź, to Opole and…

[143

post-11587","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-aktualnosci
["GET
