Hungarian conductor Gergely Madaras was named 2025 \u2018Conductor of the Year\u2019 at the Bartok Radio Awards. He served as Music Director of the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Li\u00e8ge from 2019\u20132025 where his successful tenure was recently marked by him being named an Honorary Citizen of the City. <\/p>\n\n
This season includes high-profile symphonic debuts at the Dresden Philharmonic, NDR Elbphilharmonie, Dresden Staatskapelle, Palau Valencia, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Mulhouse, Tampere, Trondheim and also with Welsh National Opera (Tosca). He returns to the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Luxembourg, Oslo, Turku and Warsaw Philharmonics, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and BBCNOW as well as Hungarian State Opera and a special project with Hungarian Radio Symphony celebrating the 100th birthday of Gyorgy Kurtag. <\/p>\n\n
