A graduate of the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim and of the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. Since 2019, he has been the leader of the cello section of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra.
A prizewinner of, among others, the Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition (Grand Prix and 1st prize), Pablo Casals International Cello Competition in Budapest (2nd prize), Antonio Janigro International Cello Competition in Zagreb (3rd prize), Alexandre Tansman International Competition of Musical Personalities in Łódź (2nd prize) and the Michał Spisak International Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza (1st prize). As a soloist and chamber musician, Tomasz has performed at a number of international festivals in Europe, the USA, Brazil and Mexico. Since 2011, he has been co-creating the Polish Cello Quartet; moreover, he is an organiser of the International Cello Academy.
Artysta dokonał wielu nagrań dla Polskiego Radia i Telewizji oraz rozgłośni niemieckich i francuskich. Najnowsze pozycje w jego dorobku fonograficznym to m.in. Chopin Project, a także album Monologue z polskimi kompozycjami na wiolonczelę solo (nagroda Fryderyk 2023 w kategorii Album Roku – Recital Solowy).
