Hubert Zemler (b. 1980). A percussionist, composer, music producer, improviser, performer and educator. A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (currently the Chopin University of Music). He moves freely between musical categories and art trends. A valued interpreter of new music, jazz percussionist, author of solo albums combining avant-garde, electronics and ethnic music; a creator of soundtracks for films, animations, theatre plays and sound installations (including
An active member of the Warsaw independent music scene centred around the LADO ABC. He is interested in exploring musical phenomena from around the world and their mutual relations.
Hubert co-creates the following ensembles: Magneto, Mitch & Mitch, Opla (with Piotr Bukowski), CEL (duo with the German electronic artist Felix Kubin), Zemiter (with Marcin Dymiter) and the performative music group PROSZEK, together with Oskar Dawicki, Piotr Adamski and Mikołaj Małek.
Over the years, he has been gradually broadening the range of his artistic interests, turning his attention to wherever there is a possibility of disturbing or stimulating the existing reality. He is interested in crossing the stylistic boundaries in a subtle manner while focusing on an organic and emotionally expressive message.
